V6A is a new (end of 2010) nine storey 140-unit condo project, designed by Lawrence Doyle Architects (now a part of IBI) on Union Street on the edge of the Downtown Eastside. Although it’s one building it’s designed to look like it’s three structures, and it uses two colours of brick to break the block up. (It looks really bright in early morning light – as you can see in this image). The retail at the base is slowly filling up, and it’s scale fits well with the adjacent Solheim Place non-market housing completed back in 1993.
